With close to 20 years as a certified fitness professional, Hanifa Yip has been helping people from all ages and experiences. She holds certifications in group fitness, personal training, and fitness programming for medical and special populations through NASM, ACE, YMCA/YWCA, Wholyfit, Urban Poling, and a nutritionist’s diploma from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Her career has brought her to churches, private clubs, community centers, and YMCA/YWCA's across the city. She has presented at women's groups and workshops, edited an instructor's fitness newsletter, blogged as an expert for a diabetes website, and led warm-ups for the HBC Run and Annual Physiotherapy Run. In addition, she has served as a presenter and examiner for the National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA and an advisor for the Canadian Fitness Education Services.
As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Hanifa makes nutritional recommendations to clients/patients with a variety of conditions, including arthritis, chronic fatigue, and Lyme. She has offered continuing education workshops on "Alternative Diets" and "Weight Loss the Holistic Way" through the National Capital Education Centre YMCA-YWCA
